Migration & Modernization
Move content, users, files and business functionality through a structured migration process — from Drupal 7, 8, 9 or 10 to Drupal 11, or from WordPress and other CMS platforms to Drupal. Drupalify assesses the current platform, maps data and functionality, plans migration stages and validates the target environment before launch. Drupal 7 support ended January 2025. Drupal 10 support ends December 2026. The time to migrate is now.

Migration Paths We Cover
What This Service Can Include
Discovery and platform audit
Every content type, module, custom code block and integration reviewed before work begins — no surprises after migration starts.
Content and data mapping
Nodes, taxonomy terms, media files, user accounts and URL aliases mapped from source to target structure before any migration runs.
Migration scripts and automation
Custom migration pipelines built using Drupal Migrate API — each content type migrated and verified in staging before cutover.
Custom module migration
Each custom module audited individually — updated, replaced with a maintained equivalent, or rebuilt for Drupal 11.
Theme rebuild
Drupal 7 themes do not carry over to Drupal 11 and are rebuilt in Twig — matching the existing design or updated as part of the migration.
Third-party integration migration
CRM, payment, analytics and API connections rebuilt and tested — integrations confirmed working before the new platform goes live.
URL redirects
301 mapping for every existing page to its corresponding new URL — search engine rankings and inbound links preserved after launch.
Staging-based go-live
The new platform is built on a staging environment while the current site stays live — zero downtime during the migration process.
Full content count verification
Every content item reconciled against the source before cutover — confirmed by count comparison so nothing is silently left behind.
48-hour post-launch monitoring
Dedicated error monitoring and rapid response in the first 48 hours after go-live — the highest-risk window after any major migration.

No. Drupal 7 reached end of life on 5 January 2025 and has received no security patches since. Any vulnerability discovered after that date remains open. Running a Drupal 7 site in 2026 is a significant security risk.
Drupal 10 support ends on 9 December 2026. Sites still on Drupal 10 after that date will no longer receive security updates. Planning a migration to Drupal 11 before that date is recommended.
No. We migrate using Drupal's Migrate API and custom scripts where needed. Before go-live, we run a full content count comparison between the source and target platform to confirm everything migrated correctly.
No. We build the new platform on a staging environment while your current site stays live. Cutover happens only after you have reviewed and approved the staging site, and we schedule it during a low-traffic window.
We map every existing URL and add 301 redirects to the corresponding new URL. This preserves the SEO value of your existing pages. We also migrate metadata, page titles and structured data.
Yes. We audit every custom module. Where a maintained Drupal 11 equivalent exists, we use it. Where one does not, we rebuild the functionality. No custom functionality is left behind without an agreed plan.
Yes. Large content databases are handled through batch processing and incremental migration. We test with a full data set in staging before go-live.
